Chatbot’s are a great tool and recently I found a few that were really bad for business. Imagine hiring someone and not telling them anything about your business or your customers. Yes these chatbots were that bad. I asked my banks chatbot how to transfer money to my business checking account. I got the same answer no matter how many times I asked the question. It kept saying “we don’t have business checking accounts”.
Afterwards I tried to finish up the loan paperwork on a new car, and it kept saying “would you like to apply for a loan?”. This was after the loan was approved and funded. I ended up going with another company.
Then I got online with my business bank. It was a completely different experience. The chatbot “knew” how to finish my loan at my personal bank and how to set up the account linking between my business account and my personal account. Someone at my business bank spent a lot of time to understand their customers and their customers personal banking habits.
